Mission: To help small and medium-sized businesses grow and succeed online
At Lokalyze, we are all about local digital marketing and software development for small businesses, agencies, and entrepreneurs.
Small business is the backbone of the US Economy and indeed the global economy. Consider the following:
- There are 30.7 million small businesses in the US, accounting for 99.9% of small businesses
- Small businesses create 1.5 million jobs annually, accounting for 64% of new jobs in the US
- Globally, over 90% of all businesses are small and medium-sized businesses
Even before COVID-19, a small business website was very important since 70-80% of people researching a company online before visiting or making a purchase.
After COVID-19, with the shut down of the physical economy, the digital economy has increased in importance with those small to medium-sized businesses with no presence or a small presence taking a big hit. Consider that COVID-19 has rendered 31% of small businesses in the US non-operational.
We provide cost-effective, digital marketing, and website solutions to small and medium-sized businesses.
ABOUT LOKALYZE: SOFTWARE AND WORDPRESS DEVELOPMENT
Before small to medium-sized businesses, we started with an Internet startup during the first dot-com boom, in the late 1990s. It was here that we learned about technology, project management, business processes, and working with teams overseas.
After almost four years, we got the entrepreneurial bug and branched out on our own doing software and website development for clients throughout the United States. This was a time before WordPress and content management systems, in general. Prior to WordPress, websites were a time-consuming, cumbersome, and expensive affair.
When WordPress first appeared in mid-2003, we quickly embraced it and by early 2004, had built our first client website in WordPress. Seemingly, within a matter of months, we transitioned almost 60% of our software development team to WordPress and have built countless websites, blogs, and plugins.
Some of the projects we built over the years include:
- A search engine
- A radiology workflow application
- A social media marketing platform
- A citation management platform for local businesses
- Countless eCommerce websites
- Numerous business websites
- Dozens, if not hundreds of WordPress websites for companies of all sizes in all industries
Note: The projects described here were built through another company. However, many of the leading programmers that built these projects and others are on the Lokalyze team and are available to work and manage your software development projects.
ABOUT LOKALYZE: DIGITAL MARKETING
Digital marketing arose out of necessity. When we first started, I built my first company through hustling and cold calling. In 2003, LinkedIn was just getting started, Facebook was not yet around, and Google was still a private company.
As digital marketing gained momentum, we embraced it as though our life depended on it, because indeed it did. We used the Internet to find leads and people that we could convert to paying clients. Email marketing was very lucrative for us at the time as was Craig’s List.
As search engines, specifically Google and Yahoo gained momentum, we incorporated SEO best practices at the time, into the websites we built. In fact, we (as in myself and some of the people on our team) built our own search engine that was eventually sold for a modest profit.
As social media marketing emerged and also started gaining momentum, we were there and built a social media marketing platform (the same team that built the search engine above). Integration was primarily via API and we built a really cool sentiment analysis algorithm that was applied to social media posts incorporating specific keywords and brands.

We did not start out in the late 1990s with Lokalyze. That was through another company. However, most of us that make up LOKALYZE now first started working together through the other company. The projects I described were built by some of the people represented on our team.
